Amanda Weir (Born March 11, 1986 in Davenport, Iowa USA) is one of the most elite American sprint freestyle swimmer. Weir holds many of the sprint freestyle age group records for USA Swimming, in the 50 yard freestyle in 23.17 seconds record at age 12.
In 2004 Summer Olympics, Weir and her American teammates earned silver medals in the Women's 4x100 m freestyle relay and 4x100 m medley relay.
Weir has earned nine World Championship medals, as well as two gold medals from the Pan American Games. She was awarded Atlanta Amateur Athlete of the year for 2005.
In 2006 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championship, Weir crushed the American record in the 100 m freestyle with a time of 53.58.
Amanda participated in Eric Shanteau's "Swim For Your Life" to benefit the LIVESTRONG foundation in October 2011.
